Outline

It’s a hidden secret that in the beginning of my artistic journey I was working with a small group of friends to create a web series inspired by Rooster Teeth’s RWBY depicting the life of 3 friends whose lives got swept away as they struggled to leave a life of bounty hunting and criminal underworlds. With the technical limitations of 2016 and of course being in middle school, we never finished the project. However, what I did have finished were the backgrounds.

There’s something about backgrounds... While working on them then and even more so now I find they’re the most important part of defining the look and feel of the world you’re creating and the way that people live in them. No character or story can exist without a background / environment to exist on whether that’s in the head of the author or illustrated / conceptualized. They say that a picture can tell a thousand words. Also however, a background can tell a thousand stories… or many many more. By using Blender and Photoshop and these examples you’ll see some of my processes. Out of all my artistic endeavors this is one I can’t wait to see have more works to look back upon in the future.
